Made in Kiva Motnyk's studio. Originally a landscape. Collaborated with Ace and Jig but used the leftover fabric remenents and repurposed them into this piece. Kiva went to Mexico and met artists in Mojaca that made local dyes, which were incorporated into this piece. Hand embroidery and repurposed napkins. A lot of antique fabrics. Includes fabrics Kiva found while travelling in India and what she has received from her family. The bottom right fabric is dyed with old Korean technique, called Pojagi.
RUN has created a vision of a modern shelter: A comforting world of colours, textures, threads and fabrics, patched together to create symphony in what could be cacophony. RUN Home celebrates the fruits of the artistic collaboration by a timeless practice of a sewing circle that is used to produce the works and infuse ideas with each others’, with a contemporary interpretation of weaving, knitting, patchwork, embroidery and printmaking.
